One of the best things about cycling in London is that you can jump off your bike and record the city's evolution whenever you notice some interesting light, an interesting view unveils or simply feel like it.
The city of London has been in a constant transformation for as long as I remember and its skyline is very different from the one I first encountered. However, we are so used to seeing building works that we often forget to look back and when we finally stop and notice the changes, we find ourselves surprised. That is the feeling I felt on Friday with the ground works that have commenced outside Bank station. I have been following the consultation for years. I have known of the works, even participated in the consultation process (that crossing has been the most dangerous cycling route I have personally encountered in the city ) , and yet, I was truly surprised to see the works being implemented. Does this happen to anyone else?
