Is the climate changing...enough?

Jan 12, 2025 0 comments

On Tuesday I jumped on my bike with the intention of cycling to Waterloo . Having checked that the constant rain was going to stop, snow started falling on me getting my clothes soaked up. All I could do was think of the people sleeping outdoors.

This autumn/winter is giving us plenty of rain and many surprises. I don't remember the end of the year ever being so unpredictable but might be my memory, of course.

In contrast, my homeland had a very warm autumn, so much so that many people have forgotten what winters are like. Over the holidays I heard many complain that they had to wear warmish jackets. I'm contrast, I spent my entire childhood's winters in thick jumpers, wool coats, wool tights and sometimes even balaclavas ! (Both my brother and I disliked those with a passion but mum made us wear them to cover our ears)

There is no doubt that weather patterns have changed enormously in my lifetime and yet the debate continues.

Also earlier in the week I heard someone online say that the Greenland /Canada discussions may be proof that the incoming government in the US privately believe in climate change and are looking to make provisions for their economy and population (Greenland =resources under ice and Canada= milder weather). Could this be it?

Watch the space, I guess.

Any thoughts?
