Kunitoraya , Paris

I wanted to share this photo to demonstrate i don't exaggerate if I say we like this place a lot . This Christmas, on arrival, we walked from the gare du nord (station) directly to the canteen and waited outside for it to open to have an udon brunch.

@kunitoraya is the place where the original chef of London's udon restaurant @koya Junya Yamasaki ( who is no longer at Koya) learned about udon from Mr. Nomoto ,an udon sensei.

The main restaurant has this bistro/ canteen next door which works really well for office workers and people in a hurry but the restaurant offers a wider range more suitable for dinner and leisure dining.

I love cold udon. My favourite choice would be cold udon with ontama (onsen tamago ... A soft boiled egg , boiled at the temp of an onsen /hot springs ) ... But on this occasion I had cold udon with the flakes of the deep fried butter... And a lovely salmon rice ball / onigiri.

This place used to be an oden place (scroll back my posts to the photo with the braised radish ....) And they still have oden but I only realised when I was leaving... Hence next time, I know I will also have some oden 🙂
