One of the most rewarding parts of working in design and education is that it opens doors ( literally) to places I would never otherwise get to see.
These visits don’t just offer access to incredible architecture; they give me new angles on the city itself. Perspectives you’d never catch from the pavement or a bike ride.
So if you’ve ever wondered why my feed is full of photos of London, that’s why. I get these glimpses into spaces and moments that feel too special not to share. 😊
On this occasion @sylviatzvetanovayung , Course Leader of @ma_interior_design_kingston , organised a visit to a stunning Grade I listed building on Wigmore Street (the historic home of London’s kitchen showrooms.)
Our students are developing design concepts for a real client who’s fully engaged in the process and who has set the brief and will be attending presentations, and providing feedback as the projects evolve.
This term is particularly exciting as it focuses deeply on professional practice. From client liaison to skill-building workshops, by the end of Term 2 each student will have identified and shaped their major project brief... one that we hope reflects their personal interests and creative passions, and begins to define the kind of work they aspire to pursue professionally.
I can’t wait to see what they come up with.
