I don’t remember when was the first time I visited this restaurant… I believe it was around 2003 and accompanied by my dear friend Jade after an evening down town.
Its low key atmosphere and good food was the perfect combination for us as, at the time , were only starting in our respective careers and were still on a student expense regime.
Although I am now more grown up , no longer a student and better with my finances, I still drop by HK DInner once a month , since the food is still great !
My husband has a bit of a fixation for the mixed seafood on crispy noodles plate which, in truth, is delicious.
I am a bit more adventurous and have a handful of dishes I choose from depending on the day. My list as follow:
1. Mixed seafood ho fun (pictured above). A delicious dish of wide rice noodles that with some Chinese chilly oil is a delight.
2. Mapo tofu on rice. (Notice that unless you say it like this, you will be presented with the same, on two dishes and changed a premium)
3. Beancurd and crab on rice. This is an amazing winter warmer.
4. Duck on rice… a classic
5. The mixed seafood crispy noodles (of course)
6. Mixed seafood stir fried rice
Another tip I can give you is to have one of their bubble drinks . My favorite are the sesame one and the watermelon one…. refreshing and delicious!
