Have you ever walked the regents canal in London? There are many interesting stretches to choose from and they are all quite different.

Yesterday I took some pics between kings cross and Camden. It had been a long time since the last time I did and it was a surprise to see how the views have changed.

The number of taller buildings along the canal has increased and it is interesting how some are choosing to address the lower ground floor.

In the Camden lock area in particular, there is a development which emerged from the site which caught fire and which is uninviting to say the least .
I do understand the need to find a balance between flood defendable spaces and a human interaction but this is not, by any means, a good compromise and those responsible to shape the built environment (from planners to architects) cannot be comfortable creating such an anti social response , especially when the buildings around the actual Camden lock, not that long ago, were able to open up in an inviting manner to the canal path.
