Daisho-in temple, Myajima

As promised, more images of the Daisho-in temple in Myajima . It is a glorious place full of charm. A harmonious balance of nature and buildings.

I want to share one thing i learned when i visited it. Do you know what the Dai-hannyakyo Sutra are? (The cylinders you see in the image of the staircase) I didn't and as i wanked up the stairs to the temple, kept noticing Japanese people rolling them.

Hence i asked.... The Dai-hannyakyo Scriptures were imported from India by Sanzo, a Chinese Monk, and it is said that they bring luck to those who touch them. (In a world as chaotic as the one we live in, i now understand how come people kept touching them...)

I feel that given I have spoken so much already and this image is self explanatory, i will only explain the minimum:

I found these statues outside one of the buildings at the Daisho-in temple in Myajima . A building full of golden Buddhas.... (in the temple's site you can find a youtube video of the interior)

This temple was a discovery for us. I took plenty of photos which I will share in the next post but these warriors deserved their own post.

They say the view from the Misen Summit is the most beautiful view of Miyajima and although i agree the ropeway, in particular (flying above the trees) is spectacular, the view from the Daisho-In Temple has little to envy.
