Hiroshima Museum of Contemporary Art

There is something about the work of Henry Moore that makes it specially suitable to mark special places.

This is the Hiroshima Arch , set at the sculpture garden surrounding the Museum of Contemporary Art, overlooks the part of the city which would have been damaged by the A-bomb.

Contemporary Hiroshima is one of my favourite cities in Japan. From my first visit in 2007, i found today's Hiroshima to be vibrant and beautiful and a dramatically different to that place I saw in history books. It is one where the chirping of the birds and the beauty of its surroundings not only reminds us of the healing power of time but the amazing resilience we have as humans.
