Gas holders

I have in the past posted images of this part of Kings Cross but have not yet mentioned the gas holders by Wilkinson Eyre which were transformed into apartments.⠀

The #gasholder guide frames have been part of King’s Cross landscape for over 150 years and the largest of those was in fact, the largest in London according to my research. The Grade II listed structure was originally constructed in the 1850s and it is now used to define The park.⠀

I am in two minds about the cylinders as apartments (the park is rather lovely) but never the less, it is undeniable that they provide a very unique offer to the area.⠀
