For years, we used to go to Taksim or even Gokyusu (the default option for most people) but a few months ago we decided to widen our choices.⠀

On Wednesday, as we cycled back home from site we decided to stop at Hala which since the previous time we had been (years ago ) has been upgraded.⠀(disclaimer: their instagram account is not reflective of their food...check their FB or website instead)

Their lahmakun (Turkish pizza) was light and delicious. ⠀
⠀
Their saksuka ( Sauteed aubergine in tomato sauce) reminded me of my grandma's equivalent (which is a big complement) . ⠀

The mixed shish had an Adana kebab which was super well seasoned and fresh...⠀
⠀
And their baklava were the best I have ever tasted ... I hope the picture can show the flakiness of the pastry ... But it was simply delicious.⠀

A Turkish taxi driver recently recommend us Istambul restaurant in Hornsey ... And when we try i will tell you but for now, we both agreed that we have found a new favourite and cannot wait to return.
