LinaStores in Soho had been my go to deli for special occasions since i first discovered it back in 99.... For the past few months, we have been looking forward to their arrival to #Kingscross where they opened a small #cocktail bar and a #restaurant on the 75th anniversary of the business. Yesterday we finally made the time to visit .

We got a seat at the counter which was the luckiest break because we saw the entire operation and planned what to order.

The team in the kitchen and front of house work together like a football team. Each person has a role which adds and contributes to the process . It's impressive to see and a lesson many businesses could learn from.
I must mention that the KP was amazing too . Having worked in several restaurants as a student, I know that bringing kitchen equipment to a working kitchen was always a challenge to the kps but here, they slide in and out with real skill and they were always aware of what was required.

When it came to ordering, there are many choices and was difficult to decide... so much so that In fact, we already have a plan for our next visit: Charred Heirloom Tomatoes with Stracciatella, globe artichoke, grilled prawns, Pici a la norcina and taglionini ai 30 Tuorli )

Yesterday, however, the dishes we chose were... In photographic order:

Polpette di Melanzane ( a great start for aubergine fans...like me)

Tonno Tonnato ( the ingredients were delicious individually and together a happy mouthful)

Rondini con Granchio e Capesante (the rondini filled with Crab & Scallop tasted of delicious seafood ...might sound odd but too often I have found those flavours to be lost in creamy sauces )

Pappardelle con Ragù di Coda di Bue ( the Ox Tail Ragu topped with delicious provolone was very skilfully cooked)

Guancia di Manzo al Barolo ( the braised Beef Cheek stewed in Barolo wine was extremely good )
All and all it was a great lunch.
