South Kensington underpass

Also in South Kensington, another piece of architecture/engineering I love is the tunnel which connects the station with the museums.⠀

It's proportions are generous, the materials durable and elegantly laid and it conceals secrets (a blocked out- traffic island- exit) as any good structure should.⠀

Built between 1884 and 1885 to link the tube station to the Exhibition Road area, it opened on the same day as the International Inventions exhibition and it is a very popular route for those looking to escape the bottleneck of the station entrance.⠀
