Zayed Centre for Research

In the past year, we have seen how a single virus can stop the world.

We also saw how the same virus, if managed differently by populations living in different parts of the world and exposed to different contexts can mutate.

A lot of what has happened we read about in history books but when it came to the reality of it, it was fascinating to see that it felt as though our collective memory had been reset.

From the outside, it has felt as though everyone has attempted to find an individual solution to a common problem, often influenced by politics, and as a rational person who respects science, I have found this particularly frustrating.

Growing up I always imagined science to have the tools to find most answers and was told that science was at the service of humanity. However, covid has confirmed what perhaps we didn't want to acknowledge... that science is business

During the rare days between lockdowns, I was able to snap this photo at the beautiful & relatively new Zayed Centre for Research building by Stanton Williams.
