According to Tate's website, today is the last day for the Tate Britain Winter Commission by Chila Kumari Singh Burman. (If you have not seen it yet, this is a great excuse to go)

The beautiful installation is titled "remembering a brave new world" and it is great example of the multiculturally rich influence one can find in most things across the British land.

Mythology from the Hindu heritage, brightness from Bollywood (and the artist's childhood in Blackpool) and plenty of food for thought throughout... for example, by redefining historical symbols of Britain's colonial past such as Britannia (which for the duration of the display, became the Hindu goddess of liberation and power, Kali.)

I personally did not know the work of the artist, and as always, I was grateful to Tate for helping me discover it.
