Dishoom

I have to admit that I remain apprehensive when thinking about the world beyond June ... More than anything because we have been there before and we know what it is like to have lockdown imposed upon us from one day to the next) .

And of course, despite the continuous interest by the media on everyone's holiday arrangements, I don't go there either because, frankly, in order to go to see my family, UK policy is only 1/3 of what matters and hence beyond my control.

So, instead of wishing pointless wishes, I am planning which exhibitions I want to visit when I can (top finds so far include Yayoi Kusama's infinity rooms at Tate and Idris Kahn's watercolours at the Victoria Miro Gallery among others) and where I would like to eat as soon as restaurants are opened .

The eating out list is long because of the accumulated longing and includes The little four seasons (China town), Song Que Cafe (hoxton), Ciao Bella (lambs conduit), Lahore (Marylebone), Hala (green lanes), and many others some of which appear to have been closed ... Among those, two of our favourites "west mersea oyster bar" or "Chang's noodle". (I hope they reopen)

Note: Please feel free to share your top tips with me for my list to grow further.

Today I am going to share images of one of the handful (literally) of our 2020 outings...a long overdue visit to the beautifully atmospheric Dishoom in Kings Cross for lunch where we enjoyed some delicious dishes .

If you are not in London, I recommend their book because their recipes are so well written that the results delicious too.
