Every autumn, just as the days get shortened and I suddenly find myself cycling in the dark , I get to appreciate how beautiful the city looks. But. Those lights are clearly, not only decorative. They provide visibility for all to enjoy the surrounding spaces without worries about accessibility or security. With all the power cut discussions around Europe , I have wondered about the impact that an unlit built environment will have in all of us but specially those who already feel unsafe and those who cannot choose to go to work when the sun is out.
