Margate

This morning I decided to cycle to the city for an early meeting.

If you have ever done this by tube in the morning, you will understand why, despite the drizzle , I chose my bike ... Unfortunately, as I progressed towards the meeting, the rain became confidently determined to stop me... And so, it did.

I literally had to find my nearest station, park the bike anywhere and venture among the suited commuters...drenched

A few hours on, I am back in front of my computer and need to see some sun...hence these images from the weekend before last in Margate

A few days to go till the #turnerprize is unveiled in #margate ... . ...

Place, Space and Who is a site specific artwork by Barbara Walker, the Birmingham based artist.

It is truly beautiful and explores identity & belonging, featuring 5 Kentish women.

This was my favourite but they are all wonderful.

They are (will you believe) rendered in charcoal (and Margate chalk!!) And capture their spirit remarkably.

The setting is also wonderful. The northern light through the large window into the buildings entrance is simply perfect .
