The landlady had created a very weird set up dividing the house up in multiple apartments and the attic, where we lived, was tiny. The kitchen was so small that we had to store food in the corridor... where we also had a small dining table.
The second pic of the fab @bolmeover (go and check her pottery IG) and I, shows you the scale (and the vibe ). The zone where we were standing was the space available to move... As wide as the door and as long as a couple of units. There were 4 people in the apartment.
On the positive side, it was so small that when your turn to cook came, all you needed to do was pivot around your center core to get dinner ready.
My bedroom was "unique"' ... Among other things, I shared a sash window with the living room and when people came to visit and would open it to smoke , they would give me a fright with the sudden movement. On cold days this was particularly annoying, I must admit.
Nowadays it would likely be deemed unsuitable for rent but at the time student accommodation was a lot like that in London.
