A few days ago I had to attend a site visit for a project. Despite it being too hot to comfortably leave the house, we are getting ready to start on site, so I had no other choice but to get on my bike and go to meet the contractor.
Every year the heat catches me by surprise, but this summer, the weather is on a whole new level forcing me to improvise more than ever before. On that day, I even wore a makeshift bandana under my helmet to manage the risk of overheating while cycling.I have to say that it did the job, but I should probably sew a proper solution for next time.
It is fascinating how our city forces us to adapt individually rather than accommodating human comfort naturally. As temperatures continue to rise, finding small, joyful ways to adapt becomes essential, but it also highlights how much our infrastructure leaves us to rely on our own resourcefulness.
How is everyone adapting to cope with the changing climate?
