Hiroshima Museum of contemporary art

As we were getting ready to leave Hiroshima, we spotted a small poster announcing and exhibition at the MOCA (Museum of contemporary art) titled " Impossible Architecture: Another History of Architecture". The exhibition showcased works by international Architects which never realized.

From incredible structures to entire cities across the globe. Pioneering ideas which paved the way to contemporary solutions.

It was a mammoth task brought together by the curators. One which, during our visit, even attracted school children looking to explore what else is possible.

Several things I noticed which I would like to mention (because i think they are key to connect with both the local communities and next generation) are:

The businesses, around the museum, proudly displayed posters of the exhibition on their windows in support. This helped both o signpost people and to build an interest. This support by the community was humbling.

I was also very impressed to see schools and museums work together to provide children ( from primary to teens) with the opportunity to access knowledge and experiences such as these as part of their education. Studying from books is good when you cannot experience things but when those are at your doorstep , it only makes sense to visit them. (BTW, I noticed on their website they currently have another interesting exhibition titled "a bright home" ... hence if you happen to be in Hiroshima, it may be of interest.)
